Friends and colleagues who inspire us on a daily basis
Although an odd way to introduce an inspiration, I have to share that the first memory I have of Sara Remington is watching her break her finger while we were rock climbing together one day. I always thought of Sara as a rock climber, but did not realize we also shared another passion … food. We are drawn to her personal way of seeing and photographing farm to table. National Geographic Photographer Catherine Karnow described Sara Remington’s photography as saying;
“it all reminds me of Japanese flower arrangement, which has elements of surprise and where imperfections and imbalance make for a perfect image”.
Having your work described as having the Japanese aethetic of wabi-sabi is fantastic, but the fact that her personal bio on her website mentions stinky cheese and rock climbing pretty much makes me in love.
